We were incredibly fortunate to come across Dr. Stephen Wilson at Alberlito hospital in Ballito. He is a reconstructive plastic surgeon who happened to be working after hours. He handled immediate checks quickly and professionally, alleviated the concerns of an 12 year old girl that she would not be able to play in the hockey nationals and personally dug through backup medical supply cabinets to find suitable medication as the Alberlito hospital pharmacy was closed.
The following day during surgery Dr. Stephen Wilson managed to remarkably rebuild my daughter’s nose from bone fragments. It is now impossible to tell that her nose had been broken at all. He was also incredibly responsive in providing the necessary documentation for school, insurance and for motivating SA Schools Hockey to accept my daughter taking part in the hockey nationals with a protective mask.
